  • RENEWABLE ENERGY-POWERED SERVERS

Our commitment to a greener future is reflected in the very core of our digital operations. We host our websites on a dedicated server in a data centre that has achieved a commendable milestone – 100% of its power is sourced from renewable energy. Through a strategic partnership with SSE, our servers are exclusively powered by wind and solar farms, aligning our digital presence with our commitment to a sustainable planet.

If you’re keen on starting your own eco office practices, here are our 5 top tips:

  • 1
    Reduce Paper Use:
Go digital whenever possible, using cloud storage and digital signatures to minimise printing. When you do need to print, use recycled paper and print double-sided.
  • 2
    Energy Efficiency:
Switch to LED lighting and make use of natural light. Turn off electronics and lights when not in use, and consider using energy-efficient appliances. For example: we use Apple HomeKit and create automations that use geolocation to turn lights/heating off, when we’re both out of the office.
  • 3

    Sustainable Office Supplies:
Choose eco-friendly supplies, like refillable pens (Tom’s Studio Lumos is my pen of choice!), recycled paper products, and biodegradable cleaning products. Opt for suppliers who prioritise sustainability.

  • 4
    Indoor Plants:
Add greenery to your office to improve air quality and reduce indoor pollution. Plants like snake plants and spider plants are easy to care for and make the office feel more vibrant. We’re currently home to an Aloe Vera of triffid-like proportions, called ‘Big Al’!
  • 5
    Using Water Wisely:

Use a water filter instead of bottled water and encourage reusable water bottles or cups in the office. Fix any leaks promptly and be mindful of water usage; we only wash up when we have a full sink-load.
